Hot off production, Clay Roof Rising announces the completion of Hunger, soon to be available at upcoming gigs, on itunes and at Waterloo Records.

After self-recording and producing their debut album, Paradox Unveiled, Adam Blumenshein and Annie Crawford were ready to take their music to the next level. Hunger is the result of twelve weeks at Test Tube Studios in Austin, TX and the product is exactly what they were hoping for: rich, emotional, thought provoking, personal, layered, rhythmic and brought alive by top quality production.

Clay Roof Rising was pleased to bring back Steve Bernal for a repeat performance on this album. The contribution of his stellar cello and bass lines adds creative, rhythmic depth and evocative tonality with first rate execution. Additional talent from Kevin Butler, Andrew Noble, Eddie Flores, Teresa Wilhelmi, and Angela Dorsey rounded out the full, engaging sound. Kevin Butler at Test Tube Audio exceeded expectations with his engineering talent, studio equipment, and artistic sense. The musical growth breathing through each song on Hunger, both in depth of song and quality of production, cannot be overstated and will leave the listener wanting more.

Hunger encompass a diversity of songs and styles while never departing from the foundational unity that has characterized Clay Roof Rising from the beginning; the musical dance between rhythmic and melodious acoustic guitars and an angelic, expressive voice. The title track, Hunger, itself exemplifies this diversity and unity within one song; from the rich, full, layered, rhythmic, and longing swells to the stripped down, intimate, bare, moments woven delicately together with classically influenced arpeggios, this song simultaneously maintains the classic Clay Roof Rising elements of folk acoustic styling and potent lyrics.

From the raw lyrics and warm harmonies of the bluegrass influenced, landscaping, yet at times fragile song Worn, to the funky, modern, expressive, and playful groove of When the Silence Wins with its jammin’ bass and expressive violin solo, to percussively driven, rolling, upbeat, rhythms of River Blind, to the gripping, climactic, frenzied orchestral ending or Today, this album will take you on an intense journey.
